James Dower invites you to experience 'Reinvention': 10 original solo piano compositions that vary in mood and style,
rich in emotional depth. 'Reinvention' is Dower's first solo release and his first since the debut of the James
Dower Jazz Trio CD (recorded in 2000), with the title referring to Dower's newly established life as a New York City musician.
An air of thoughtful introspection pervades 'Reinvention', along with a strong emotional undercurrent supplied by
Dower's touch on the piano keys: often quiet and gentle, other times excited and eager. Always dynamic and focused on
melody, 'Reinvention' travels through a series of inspired pieces, blending elements of jazz, pop and New Age to deliver
a well-crafted set of piano music ideal for setting background mood as well as for careful listening. 'Reinvention' is James Dower's second CD. The James
Dower Trio featuring Steve Skop and Mark Mahoney was released in 2000, and includes original jazz piano trio music along
with the standards "Night and Day" and
"I Hear a Rhapsody". Generous radio airplay in New England and online helped to make The James Dower Trio a successful
working jazz group while Dower resided in Massachusetts. Now living in New York, Dower has focused his writing talents on
this solo CD as well as an upcoming release featuring a full band and vocal material.
